President's Message

Spring 2004
Spring
at last! A time of renewal. Renewal FAFSAs, renewal FISAPs
(just around the corner), audits, reports, but the sun
is out and our Spring Conference is coming up. Johanna
Harper and her committee, along with Kent Larson and his
staff at the U. of U., have been working very hard to
put together a conference that will be fantastic. The
theme is “Back to Basics.” The sessions are
planned to give those of us who have been around awhile
a chance to review the nuts and bolts we often forget
while expanding our knowledge of current issues. For those
of us who are just starting out on the journey through
the complexities of Title IV, there are sessions planned
to make that trip a much more pleasant and understandable
one.
As important as the sessions are and the information
we receive is, let’s not forget another important
aspect of the conference—the chance to renew friendships
with colleagues and just enjoy each other’s company
and different perspectives. The University Guest House
on historic Fort Douglas provides a wonderful atmosphere
conducive to casual conversation and renewal for ourselves
and the community of financial aid administrators. It
is spring, after all. See you all there May 12 –
14.
