Marilyn
Miner
Marilyn S. Miner is an accredited financial counselor and
trainer in the BYU Financial Aid and Scholarship Offices,
where she has worked for 10 years.
She enjoys the time spent with her posterity as well as
learning, traveling, and playing the violin. She is the
mother of seven children, all of who also play instruments
and enjoy performing together.
Karen
Bueler
Karen Bueler of the American Institute of Medical &
Dental Technology is vice-chair of the Publications Committee.
She will step into the editor position January 2005.
Karen Bueler is presently the campus director for the American
Institute of Medical-Dental Technology in St. George. She
has a BS in nursing from BYU and worked early in her career
with premature infants, doing research at Stanford Medical
Center and setting up preemie intensive care units at Good
Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.
She taught nursing for a short time at the University of
Cincinnati. The next 18+ years were spent being a mother
to seven sons. She returned to the working world as manager
of a dental practice in Arizona for several years and a
large group practice in St. George, before joining the American
Institute. Financial aid is a big part of what Karen does
at the Institute. She attended the RMASFAA training and
leadership in Denver this past summer and learned more about
financial aid than she thought was possible.
Donna
Brown
Donna has worked at the Davis Applied Technology College
for 13 years. She joined the Financial Aid and Scholarship
Office in 1998 as the financial aid advisor. It is a three-person
office, serving about 500 students per year. She is the
primary advisor on federal aid programs, assisting students
with their applications and ensuring that they receive their
grant payments on a weekly basis.
Donna is married and has 3 grown children—two boys
and a girl. One son is married, the other one is almost
married, and her daughter is still living at home while
she's attending school. She also has three gorgeous grandchildren;
Taylor, Klay and Raegan.
She enjoys gardening, creating floral arrangements, shopping,
and hosting her grandchildren for sleep-overs. Her newest
hobby is appeasing her husband's mid-life crisis by riding
4-wheelers on the sand dunes.
Ronell
Crossley
After leaving big wonderful Wyoming and earning a BS in
Business Management from Brigham Young University, I moved
to Cedar City and worked as the Assistant Director of Financial
Aid at Southern Utah State College, 1984-1985. After a very
brief stint with the Treasury Department in 1986, I returned
to the world of financial aid at ITT Technical Institute
in Murray,1987-1999.
Also during that time, I worked part-time for Sherman Kendall's
Academy of Beauty Arts and Sciences, learning about clock
hours.
Next on the tour was UHEAA where I began as a School Services
Officer in September, 1999 to June, 2002. Currently I work
with Mike Johnson in UHEAA's Policy and Research area where,
of course, I research regulations and policies to answer
questions regarding federal and guarantor policies.
Some of my volunteer time included tutoring fifth graders
at Fremont Elementary School in Murray for an hour each
week for six years.
