2004
President-Elect Comments
By Todd Milovich
In a world that seems to be becoming increasingly market
oriented and data driven, isn't it great to work in a profession
where occasionally we can actually help someone take a step
towards a better life. In the maze of regulations, administrative
decisions and policies we somehow always manage to find
ways to help students fund their futures. Through our state,
regional, and national associations we are able to share
information and have a voice in the decision making that
affects our ability to effectively accomplish our purpose
and the purpose of Title IV. While the ideal of equal access
to higher education remains an ideal it is one that is certainly
worth working towards. Through our association and through
the hard work and dedication of all UASFAA members we have
provided not only access but a relatively safe and easy
pathway through the maze of Financial Aid. I look very forward
to working with you all through UASFAA.
Way
To Be There, UASFAA Members!
We called and you came! The NASFAA "National Conference
Committee" has been so impressed with the enthusiasm
of its Utah constituents. We greatly appreciate all those
who have answered our call for volunteers for next summer's
conference in Salt Lake City. We will be contacting you
with more information in the spring. Our first committee
meeting was very productive, and it is shaping up to be
a great conference. You do not need to be registered for
the conference to participate as a volunteer. Most shifts
will be three hours and we would love to have everyone involved,
so if you are interested in participating, please contact
Wendy Clark at the University of Utah at 801-585-6461 or
wclark@sa.utah.edu.

E-Signature Hits Utah
UHEAA, Dixie State and Weber State are 'pleased as punch'
to be able to offer an e-signature option for students who
are borrowing Stafford Loans. Students can now go online
at UHEAA's web site to sign their Master Promissory Note
(MPN). This process has been a great success and convenience
for students and staff at both campuses.
