E-Signature Coming Soon to MPNs Near You

In a Collegiate Financial Aid Directors Forum held by UHEAA on June 21, 2002, it was announced that the e-signature for Stafford loan borrowers will be possible for UHEAA guaranteed loans. The attendees were shown the various screens and steps to be taken by the borrowers once the system is up and running. Dave Feitz anticipates that this option will be available to schools and their students by the end of July 2002. This capability surely will be appreciated by the Students and Staff of the schools who participate.

UHEAA Staffing Changes

Mike Johnson, former Manager of the Outreach and Financial Counseling, will fill the position left vacant by Catherine Judd's departure. Mike's new assignment will be UHEAA's Manager of Policy Analysis and Training. Ronell Crossley, formerly UHEAA's Senor School Services Officer will be joining Mike as the new Senior Policy and Research Officer. Cinda Eresuma has become the new Senor School Services Representative. Phil Bernal is now UHEAA's Manage of Outreach Services which includes the various UtahMentor responsibilities.

Commisioner Foxley Suggests...

At the Directors Forum on June 21, 2002, Commissioner Foxley was able to briefly talk to the attendees about additional budget cuts that will be imposed on the States Public Educational system as well as the Higher Educational system. She stated that Higher Ed. is looking at a possible 9% budget cut in addition to the cuts already incurred. It is strongly suggested that those in Higher Education contact the current members of the Legislator and the candidates who represent them to find out their position on Education in the State. By asking for their opinion in public debates or forums, their positions become recorded by the media which may help our States educational issues.
