I hope all of you had a great new year. I am excited to be able to serve as President of the Utah Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. I have appreciated working with Doug Horn and the previous board. We have a lot of dedicated members in our Association.

Congratulations to our newly elected officers for UASFAA. The results of the elections are:

• Associate Member Vice-President Elect – Mike McKendrick

Thanks to all of the candidates for participating in the election. We had a wonderful slate of candidates to pick from and thanks to many of you who participated in our first electronic election. I feel it was successful.

I am looking forward to working with all the UASFAA membership and the UASFAA Board.

We are looking forward to the UASFAA Spring Conference which will be held at Southern Utah University in Cedar City, May 15 - 17, 2002. Trudy Smith is the Conference Chair and Wendy Clark is the Program Chair.

We have completed our postcard mailing. We would never have been able to accomplish this goal without UHEAA's support. We mailed over 34,000 postcards to all the high school seniors and counselors in the State. At the end of the processing year, we will check with the Federal Processors to compare the electronic applicants from 2002 to 2003. It was a big job but we believe that it will help our incoming freshman.

The UASFAA web page looks great and we will continue to work on it. We are currently working on a list serve for our organization. So be sure and verify that the information in the membership directory for your organization is current with updated e-mail addresses.

This year we will make the changes to the UASFAA Constitution and Bylaws. We will also start a Policy and Procedure manual for the organization.
